Hangry Is a Real Thing

So the dose of steroid (dexamethozone) that Henry is on is higher/stronger than what he has been on in the past.  When he isn't sleeping and nauseous he is hungry.  At 5 am the first day home he woke up to go potty and wanted to eat.  He wakes up and asks for food and then when we don't have what he wants or my husband tries to hold him off and get him to go back to sleep. At the same time the next morning I got up with him. He ate most of a Nathan's hot dog (the kind they have at Sam's Club but regular bun length)  he ate that while he was waiting for his Totino's pizza to bake that he was crying for before we came downstairs.  He ate the cheese and meat off of half of the pizza and then was still hungry so he ate a bowl of cereal. After that he got full enough to go back to sleep. Sunday morning he woke up at 4 crying that he wanted sausages and he wanted his daddy to go down and check the freezer and fridge for some so he could have them. Jeremy knew we didn't have any and told Henry he wasn't going to look for something we don't have. He was pretty upset that we didn't have any and we weren't going to the store to get them. He calmed down from yelling at his dad and I found some foods he did want.  As the weekend has moved into the regular work week it has be a bit wearing trying to keep up with the food he wants. Monday it was Burger King and Tuesday it was Jamba Juice and Taco Bell. He wanted Taco Bell from four in the morning. Yesterday morning he had chicken noodle soup in bed and I slept on his floor while he ate. Luckily he went back to sleep after 1 and a half bowls of that. He makes this cute little chewing sounds like he is trying to eat fast but he is also munching it thoroughly.

Right now I am up with him.  He threw up his dinner this evening and just wanted to go to bed so we let him sleep and planned on waking him up right before we went to bed to help him take his medicine and brush his teeth.  He was feeling so yucky and he was mad about the medicine but we figured he wouldn't be hungry at 4 am if we tried at 11.  We are trying to convince him to swallow pills because it is hard to get him to take such gross tasting liquid morning and night everyday. Jeremy snuck an anti nausea pill that melts in the mouth in tonight and an hour later my boy was asking for something to eat. At 1 in the morning.  So he had all but half of a 3 pizza lunchable with extra cheese and half a pack of ramen noodles.  He says he is still hungry...
