I Should Be Sleeping

Aside from still being sick and having a grumpy one year old, (cutting molars is not fun) today went pretty well. I think I am going to attribute most of it to going to bed at nine-thirty (How do you punctuate that?) the night before. We were expecting to go to the Treehouse Museum with some friends but our friends are sick so we hung out at home (we really shouldn't share germs) and then went to our friends' house instead (Alright, I guess its ok if you really want to.) It is so good to talk to a friend and sit in the same room with them. The phone works too but its not the same. It was great talking to her. Of course its day one of sleeping in separate states (night two) and I feel like I may have been making a bigger deal out of being apart than it really is. It is totally not fun but if I look at it like the year that husband worked 12 hour shifts its not too different. I do set the alarm more often (every night). The thing is, for me its almost better being separa...

We LOVE Cotton Candy

Image
We went to Lagoon at the beginning of the month with Mary and her family. Oliver rode his first ride by himself. It is funny because he doesn't look like he is having a good time, he mostly looks concerned, but when we pick him up after the ride is over he gets mad and wants to stay on. Of course by the end of the day we had our melts downs. The one in the bee ride was because she wanted to ride the pink elephant but somebody go there before her. Annabelle got to ride the new roller coaster Bombarda with her daddy. I thought she might be a little worried but she always does well when her daddy is close by and helps her. She said it was really fast. Oliver rode the same ride (no crying) with his cousin Sara. And of course we had cotton candy which my little monsters ended up wearing as much as eating. We had loads of fun and even went back a few days later.

Playing around.

Just playing around with the blog trying to figure out hoe things work. I eeny meeny family picture will probably change again and again. the funny hting is no one is reading this blog because I still don't know what my address is!

I'm not even sure how this thing works

Boy, blogging sure is fun when you have no clue what you are doing! Not really though. I don't know how to put up pictures. I don't know how to design the back ground aside from the options they already have. I tried to follow a few people but it just didn't work and honestly I'm not even really sure what my blog address is. In other news, I had my mom come stay a few days ago and she took some of our large and dark furniture to her house to store until we move up there. The two rooms that I took furniture out of look much bigger now (which was my goal) but I'm starting to see all sorts of dings and dents and holes in the walls, not to mention the kid grime thats collects right around their hand/eye level. I almost want to re paint everything. I know it sounds crazy and maybe I put a little more stock into what the world of realtors has to say than I should, but I want the house to sell fast and I want to be in Idaho Falls next week when Jeremy starts his n...

Selling the House

UGH! I have been going crazy trying to clean the house and get things ready to show and sell. It is very frustrating. I'm stressing a lot about making it look nice enough and I thought today before our first showing things were looking pretty good. There are a few problem areas like the garage, spare room and a closet or two but in all it looks really good considering we listed the house this wednesday/thursday and we had our first potential buyer come today. I felt like we made it look really great. We stayed up until three (more like all night if you include Oliver's night time teething issues) finishing projects and worked this morning to organize and arrange things just right. So I got home after the appointment (I really have no clue if anybody actually walked through our house) and I find pee and poop in the toilet on the main floor from my little girl and I forgot and left the tv on in the basement. The volume was really loud! I'm thinking for the next showing ...

Potty training and Weening

So the other night Jeremy and I are talking and he says "It would be really great if Annabelle is potty trained by the time we go to Chicago (which is in a month)" Then I say "It would really be nice if she woke up in the morning and decided she wanted to be potty trained and that would be it!" Needless to say he didn't think it would happen. So the next day...WOOO HOOO!! Actually it has been a work in progress. I haven't been confident enough in Annabelle's abilities to let her wear panties all day but that day I told her all we had were her brother's baby diapers and she should wear panties. Then I made a sticker chart and we continued with potty treats as incentive and ta da! Three dry days and I thought we were home free. She still has had a few accidents (she gets too busy playing and sometimes we don't prompt her often enough) and she wears a diaper at night but I think we are doing great! Now for weening, a much dicier process. Oliver...

Birthdays

Our little boy turned one yesterday. We had some family and friends over for a little celebration and thankfully my husband planned and prepared everything. The cake was a cute little number 1 shape and Jeremy even made a tiny 1 for Oliver to eat all by himself. He made a huge mess (well not much more of a mess than when he eats the rest of his meals). He got a few toys clothes and books. The walker/rider he got was really fun this morning when he pushed it around and climbed on it and actually walked with it.

Thinking about my quietbook

So I started making a quiet book when my sister did a little class on it and shared the materials with me. But once I got started I was addicted. I'm not the best at sewing or drawing or implementing the ideas in my head. Mostly I just copied other people anyway. But it makes me happy to sew and have a project I feel is worth sharing. I am going to take and put pictures up soon...
